CaPA Managed Funds

Clean & Prosperous America’s (CaPA) staff currently leads the Strategic Grassroots Empowerment Fund, and helped launch the Rural Youth Voter Fund in partnership with the Rural Democracy Initiative and Movement Voter Project. 

Additionally CaPA makes its grant-giving infrastructure available to aligned partners to provide low-cost rapid grant giving. CaPA currently facilitates the 1.5°Climate Fund for 1.5°Climate, and the Giving Green Fund for Giving Green.

Strategic Grassroots Empowerment Fund – This pooled resource fund allows donors to designate c3/c4/PAC resources for specific organizations or geographies, or assign funds to CaPA staff to direct to the most important electoral gaps. The fund focuses on quickly deploying, often late-moving electoral money, to grassroots organizations doing voter engagement activities. Most recipients of the Strategic Grassroots Empowerment Fund are sourced through the Public CaPA Connector or the enhanced CaPA Connector+ featuring grant review team scores, $/action metrics, and other diligence assets.

Rural Youth Voter Fund – In partnership with Clean and Prosperous America and Movement Voter Project, Rural Democracy launched in 2023 the Rural Youth Voter Fund to nurture the extraordinary promise of rural youth by investing in authentic long-term engagement of young community members. This project expands on CaPA’s 2020->2023 focus of investing in grassroots organizations turning out young voters of color in non-urban areas.

1.5°Climate Fund – This pooled resource fund facilitated by CaPA allows donors to designate c3/c4/PAC resources for specific organizations or geographies associated with pitch presentations made to the 1.5°Climate donor collaborative. 1.5°Climate Funds can also be assigned to 1.5°Climate staff to direct to the most urgent gaps with a commitment that staff guided funds will either create or unlock true matching funds. 1.5°Climate utilizes a member-led steering committee to make final selection of speakers after reviewing landscape assessments and notes from 100’s of organizational interviews led by staff each year. 

Giving Green Fund – CaPA facilitates grant awards from the Giving Green Fund to entities assigned by Giving Green staff. Giving Green simplifies climate philanthropy by rigorously researching and carefully vetting climate charities and then producing annual recommendations that maximize the impact of philanthropists’ donations.
