- Late in election cycles CaPA can deploy funds through its loan reserve account as soon as they are pledged, so no time is lost waiting on contributions to arrive, allowing organizers to put the dollars to work immediately. During election seasons, CaPA funds capacity gaps and emergency needs all the way up to Election Day, as well as ballot curing after election day.

OUR APPROACH
CaPA’s Strategic Grassroots Empowerment Fund discovers and directs resources to community based and culturally diverse organizations that are creative, efficient, and locally powerful to drive civic engagement. We find and fund a wide variety of organizations including many that are unlikely to get financial resources from institutional national donors.
Too often, resources are funneled into large-scale “here today, gone tomorrow” election cycle ad campaigns. But people are tired of generic, transactional messaging that doesn’t speak to their real lives. What breaks through the noise? Personal outreach from trusted community members about the issues they care about.
We believe that growing and sustaining organizational strength at the grassroots level is what builds long-term people power to create lasting change.
