Greenlight Action (c4)
Organization Description
Greenlight empowers communities to win the clean energy future. We mobilize local supporters to ensure solar, wind, and storage projects are approved and built, overcoming the biggest obstacle to deployment: local permitting. Our scalable model identifies critical decision points, equips residents with tools and training, and partners with organizations like Protect Our Winters to amplify grassroots voices. By ensuring clean energy doesn’t lose by forfeit, we advance gigawatts of new projects, cut millions of tons of carbon pollution, and deliver local economic and health benefits. Greenlight stands for bold climate action through people-powered, community-rooted campaigns.
2025 Programs
In 2025, Greenlight is scaling our Clean Energy Mobilization Hub to run over 70 local campaigns, advancing gigawatts of solar, wind, and storage projects during a critical tax credit window. We are expanding into new states, strengthening our Early Warning System, and deepening partnerships—like our joint campaigns with Protect Our Winters in Colorado and Nevada—to mobilize grassroots supporters through phonebanking, organizing, and tailored outreach. Our focus is ensuring clean energy doesn’t lose by forfeit at the local level, delivering durable climate wins, avoided emissions, and community benefits in frontline geographies.
