NY Renews is a coalition led by member organizations from every corner of New York. Our efforts across popular education, community engagement, and creating a pathway to a just energy transition are rooted in the needs of frontline and environmental justice communities, BIPOC New Yorkers, low-income workers and energy economy workers, Indigenous Nations, and other marginalized communities.

As the main force behind the passage of NYS’s historic climate law in 2019, NY Renews is the only coalition working to ensure the mandates and goals of the law are adequately funded and fully realized. Our 2025 and 2026 plans include:
1) Watchdogging NY’s Climate Law at a time when the governor is failing to lead on climate;
2) Ensuring that the state's proposed cap-and-invest program remains the primary vessel to fund the climate law; and
3) Building the capacity of the communities we represent to strengthen our movement, deepen alignment, and lead on climate justice.
