Advocacy Institute Inc (c3)

Organization Description
At the Advocacy Institute, our mission is to support social justice organizations to build the advocacy skills, knowledge, and power they need to shape government policy for a more just and equitable New York. Currently, the New Yorkers who are most affected by injustice have little say in our state and local policies. We provide trainings, tools, and consulting to a myriad of organizations so that more New Yorkers can organize effectively to change the policies that affect them.
2025 Programs
We will continue to train individuals at social justice organizations throughout New York State on the nuts and bolts of state- and local-level legislative advocacy. We will also serve nearly 60-70 social justice organizations through our membership model, providing 1-on-1 legislative consulting to help our member organizations refine and reach their campaign goals and build on what they learn in our trainings in a longer-term way. Finally, we will offer an intensive leadership development program that aims to build the leadership of women of color in legislative advocacy in New York.

Georgia Conservation Voters Action Fund (PAC)

Organization Description
GCV Action Fund supports candidates who are serious about addressing the climate crisis and fighting for climate justice. We invest in polling, research, and message testing to identify key groups of voters and the best messages to persuade them to vote for climate champions. Recent elections have shown that Georgia is a battleground for statewide partisan races – electing new leadership is our best chance to solve the climate crisis unfolding here in Georgia, and we need your help. Please support GCV Action Fund’s critical work in electing candidates who will protect people and the planet.
2025 Programs
In November, Georgians will vote in an unprecedented statewide special election for two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission, which regulates electricity, natural gas, and telecommunications in the state. The PSC dictates how much customers of Georgia Power, the state’s largest utility, pay for electricity and which energy sources are used. With this election, we have the opportunity to replace anti-climate, anti-consumer incumbents beholden to Georgia Power with champions for Georgia’s climate future. We plan to reach voters with mail, digital, phones, and text banking campaigns to inform them of the importance of this election.

V4P galvanizes the advocacy of business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other prominent individuals who unite to champion a healthy climate/environment, strengthen our democracy, and ensure economic and social justice for all. Understanding this and believing our democracy shouldn’t work that way, they use their positions to ally with historically marginalized communities, amplifying the concerns and solutions those communities put forward. V4P members believe that the communities closest to the problems are closest to the solutions.
