United for Respect Education Fund (c3)

Organization Description

United for Respect Education Fund (UFREF) is a national grassroots organization building a movement rooted in the innovation, power, and leadership of working people in low wage jobs, particularly women and Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. Low-wage jobs employ over 31 million people across urban, suburban, and rural communities – 28% Black, 28% Latino, 56.7% women and 52.9% under the age of 34. Organizing and activating this multiracial workforce remains critical to transforming workplaces, our economy, and democratic participation at a moment defined by continued economic precarity, corporate consolidation, and political polarization.

2026 Programs

UFREF will reach, agitate, and mobilize the multi-racial, low-wage workers who are consistently under-engaged by traditional political outreach. This group overlaps with infrequent voters, many facing structural barriers to participation. UFR’s model moves workers from workplace action into civic engagement, supporting fights for higher wages, access to healthcare and paid leave, safe and healthy working conditions, and democratic voice in communities. Workers who organize become trusted messengers among coworkers, family members, and neighbors. Their lived experience and testimony shape public narratives around policy and corporate accountability. This constituency has power in local, statewide, and federal elections.

2024 Programs

UFR's civic engagement program integrates online/offline organizing to boost voter turnout from a low-wage, majority women and BIPOC voting bloc of 2 million people across urban, rural, and suburban geographies. We move our base through deep relationship building into action, and leverage persuasion messaging to turn out low-propensity voters.

CivicIQ (c3)

Organization Description

At civicIQ, we use proprietary data tools and direct digital conversations to uncover what communities really think — and how to win their support. Then we engage one-on-one, using trusted channels like SMS, social media, and email to build authentic relationships and mobilize the quiet majority who support clean energy — but usually stay on the sidelines. We also build support by educating and winning over those on the fence. We champion the power of storytelling and local calls to action as a nonprofit media platform, envisioning an America powered by renewable energy and the transformational heroes who are building that future.

2026 Programs

CivicIQ’s 2026 programs target the "marginal" influence of Rural Electric Co-ops to identify pro-clean energy voters in Michigan, Missouri, and Indiana. We advance community benefit frameworks across 10–20 projects to secure tangible wins, modernize narratives, and streamline permitting through depolarization. Our digital strategy scales this impact by deploying a diversified social media brand reaching audiences from progressive youth to conservative ruralites. Finally, we leverage custom AI agents for "narrative regrounding," moving fence-sitters and entrenched opposition toward supporting local clean energy.

2025 Programs

In 2025, CivicIQ focused on scaling localized impact and refining data-driven outreach. We partnered with developers to manage community sentiment and benefits during both greenfielding and permitting phases. A key achievement was developing breakthrough methods for identifying landowner leads in high-priority greenfielding zones. We successfully activated our subscriber base across Facebook Messenger, email, and SMS, generating critical positive public comments that helped secure a landmark permitting victory for a major wind project in Wisconsin. These results validated our ability to move the needle on the ground while building a repeatable framework for national expansion.

Citizens' Climate Education (c3)

Organization Description

Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) empowers people across the United States to build political will for effective climate solutions in Congress. Through grassroots organizing, leadership development, and evidence-based training, CCE equips volunteers with the skills and knowledge to engage policymakers constructively. Its nationwide network supports citizen advocacy through meetings with members of Congress, local media outreach, community engagement, and strategic campaigns aligned with key policy moments. By enabling everyday people to engage their elected officials effectively, CCE helps strengthen long-term support for climate solutions.

2026 Programs

CCE will focus on strengthening the effectiveness of citizen engagement with Congress on climate policy. Core programs include expanding the BRIDGE (Building Relationships in Dialogue, Growth, and Engagement) relational advocacy training program, providing policy education on key federal climate issues, and investing in volunteer leaders who coordinate advocacy across the country. CCE will continue mobilizing constituents to meet with members of Congress, engage in local media, and participate in targeted advocacy campaigns aligned with key legislative moments. By strengthening volunteer training, policy fluency, and strategic coordination, CCE equips citizens nationwide to engage policymakers and advance climate solutions.

2025 Programs

In 2025, Citizens’ Climate Education mobilized citizens nationwide to engage Congress on climate policy. More than 17,000 volunteers took 143,000 advocacy actions, including 824 meetings with congressional offices and 430 earned media placements. CCE delivered 315 trainings, reaching 13,000 live participants and 465,900 recorded views, and developed BRIDGE (Building Relationships in Dialogue, Growth, and Engagement), a relational advocacy training program to strengthen communication across political differences. Volunteers also used district-level clean energy investment data to highlight local economic benefits of federal climate policy. These efforts strengthened citizen engagement and helped defend key clean energy provisions during major federal policy debates.

Organizing Empowerment Fund (c3)

Organization Description

Empower Fund is the leader in harnessing the power of personal connections to break down barriers, empower communities, and enact change. We’ve taken the oldest and most effective form of organizing and built revolutionary programs that reach people authentically using the most trusted of messengers — friends, neighbors, and family. We’ve developed and refined tools and technology that help communities most often overlooked get connected and involved. Through partnerships at every level—from local to national—we strengthen the connection between organizations driving progress and the communities they serve.

2026 Programs

In 2026, Empower Fund will launch a Fellowship Program to help nonprofits go even further in their work to connect people and strengthen communities by adding new tools and approaches to their outreach. An expansion on our existing core program, in select states Empower Fund will partner with 3–5 organizations and support a small cohort of staff from each to embed within Empower’s programs for six months of hands-on learning. Fellows will learn how to integrate friend-to-friend and digital organizing strategies into their own models, expanding their reach, deepening their community relationships, and building their power.

2025 Programs

2025 was a year filled with unprecedented challenges for civic engagement. We at Empower Fund are proud to have worked together with our supporters and hundreds of partner organizations in order to face these challenges and help support local communities. Our Partner Success Team equipped organizations with the technology and support they need to build resilient community infrastructure through friend-to-friend, neighbor-to-neighbor relational programs. We are heartened by what 2025 has shown us: that by working together through real relationships and strengthening communities we can make resilient progress.

Organization Description

Vote Pro-Choice builds governing power to support legal, accessible reproductive healthcare at every level of government, particularly at the state and local levels. We empower voters with registration resources, election information, and comprehensive voter guides.

2026 Programs

In 2026, our core c3 programming pairs robust voter education with targeted voter registration to build a long-term base of progressive voters, primarily engaging women. Our education efforts ensure voters understand the power of every office and measure on their ballot, including judges, prosecutors, and key ballot initiatives. Through text outreach, direct mail, and digital ads, we clearly explain the impact of state and local races. This integrated approach equips voters with the information they need and drives informed participation and sustained turnout across critical elections.

2024 Programs

Vote Pro-Choice builds governing power for abortion access and reproductive freedom by engaging voters in state/local elections. Through one-to-one texts, mailers, digital ads, video, and phone banking, we work to demystify the impact of middle and downballot offices and mobilize voters to turnout.

Each year, we reach over 500,000 unregistered voters, providing the tools and knowledge they need to register and exercise their most fundamental right — transforming civic education into lasting community power.

2026 Programs

In 2026, 1000 Women Strong Education Fund will expand our year-round civic education and community-building programs across eight key states, hosting events around MLK Day, Earth Day, Juneteenth, Mental Health Awareness Month, and other community moments. We will train a new cohort of Diane Nash Fellows to lead nonpartisan civic education and healing-centered engagement, while continuing to reach over 500,000 unregistered voters with tools to register and vote. We will also launch our Rooted in Rural campaign—an environmental and civic education initiative that uplifts rural Black Women leaders, builds organizing capacity, and strengthens rural communities through equity-centered environmental justice.

In 2026, GoodPower aims to engages millions of people annually in communities across the US to promote smart energy, pro-renewables policy at every level of government in the lead up to the midterm elections and beyond.

2025 Programs

GoodPower is working globally to unlock the enormous economic potential of the energy transition—more affordable energy bills, better and more abundant jobs, healthier food, economic security for families and farmers, and a better economy that works for all of us. We operate at the intersection of digital media, smart tech, civic participation, and advocacy to reach millions of people annually with our work to: lower costs and create jobs, shift culture to transform beliefs and behaviors, and accelerate the deployment of decarbonized technologies like: renewables, regenerative agriculture and electric vehicles—one individual, one neighborhood, one community at a time.

Equality Michigan champions a future where every LGBTQ+ person in Michigan can live authentically, safely, and free from discrimination. We advocate for inclusive laws and policies, support survivors of violence and injustice, engage and empower voters, and educate communities to foster understanding. Rooted in equity and intersectionality, we amplify LGBTQ+ voices across the state and challenge hate in all its forms. In 2025, Equality Michigan is deepening our coalition and movement-building work statewide. We’re expanding rapid-response efforts in schools, equipping LGBTQ+ organizations with advocacy tools, and investing in new organizers to mobilize trans adults and parents. Our focus includes volunteer development, direct advocacy, and storytelling to build power ahead of 2026. We’re also investing in humanizing media coverage of trans Michiganders and supporting champions with clear, values-based messaging. By reaching moveable voters through less traditional media outlets—including radio and platforms beyond urban centers—we’re shifting public perception, countering anti-trans attacks, and increasing support for pro-equality policies and elected officials.

Organization Description

The Mission of MOSES is to organize communities, develop faith-based leaders and build relationships to advocate for social justice through a group of diverse congregations. MOSES accomplishes this through training leaders in churches, synagogues and mosques, teaching participants how to articulate their shared values and work with their constituents to take collective action in the public arena.

2024 Programs

Collaborating with our network of congregations, MOSES/MOSES Action will mobilize thousands of voters across Michigan’s communities of color by organizing congregation-based Voter Hubs, training teams to lead voter engagement activities in their neighborhoods. We will also deploy a paid team of canvassers to strategic areas of the state.
