Michigan United is a statewide organization of community members and institutions fighting for the dignity and potential of every person. We are committed to a participatory democracy at every level, an economy that works for the many, a nation that dismantles racism, and a society that uplifts our common humanity. To ignite the power of our communities and shift the balance of power, we cultivate the leadership of those directly affected by injustice and build popular institutions.

In 2026, Michigan United will strengthen grassroots power through year-round nonpartisan civic engagement, leadership development, community education, and coalition building. Our programming includes Project 3.5 leadership development, relational organizing, Election Protection, community health and gun violence prevention initiatives, immigration legal services, and issue-based organizing around healthcare affordability, environmental justice, economic opportunity, and democracy. Through partnerships with faith communities, labor, and grassroots organizations, we are recruiting and developing new leaders, expanding volunteer engagement, and building the long-term organizing infrastructure needed to advance equitable policies and empower communities across Michigan.

In 2025, Michigan United expanded its statewide grassroots organizing through nonpartisan civic engagement, leadership development, and coalition-based organizing. We strengthened Election Protection by training and deploying volunteers to protect voters across Michigan, expanded Project 3.5 to develop emerging community leaders, and played a leadership role in the Michiganders for Money Out of Politics coalition, helping collect more than 560,000 petition signatures. We also advanced community health, gun violence prevention, immigration legal services, and issue organizing around healthcare affordability, environmental justice, and economic opportunity, while deepening partnerships that build long-term community power.
