ChangeTN Action Fund (PAC)
Organization Description
ChangeTN started in 2020 with the goal of assisting candidates running for office in Tennessee, from town councils to the governor’s seat and everything in between. We want every candidate to have the support they need to win, regardless if their district is blue, red, or purple. ChangeTN isn’t just about this election or the next; our organization focuses on what this state should look like 10 years from now. Moving the needle and making Tennessee the next Progressive stronghold is a process that cannot be completed in one election cycle, but we are determined to move this state forward.
2026 Programs
Our core focus on are on young (18-35), "coin-flip" voters (40-60%) turnout, which are blanketed in our "360-degree" approach to voters. Each voter receives a 3+1 text for candidates (3 early voting reminders and Election Day), two customized postcard campaigns, and IP-targetted digital ads. We also partnered with local community leaders to organize door-knocking campaigns across the state to give voters in-person contact to create a human connection.
Pre-election, we are working with the postcard group to reach out to recent movers in an area to invite them to upcoming events and update their voter registration.
2025 Programs
We reduced our monthly overhead by almost 50%, freeing up more resources to funnel into candidates and voter research surveys, which were conducted in-house and made public on our website for the communities benefit. These polls laid the foundation for community-specific messaging and enabled local organizers to tailor their outreach. Tennessee also has off-cycle elections, in which we saw all three of our General Election local candidates convincingly win their races for the Knoxville City Council.
2024 Programs
ChangeTN focuses on a digital first advertising strategy for Progressive candidates at the local and state level in Tennessee. Primarily focusing on youth (18-35 voters), we found that digital outreach is the most cost effective approach to ending the supermajority and moving Tennessee forward.
Mission
Founded in 2020, ChangeTN assists local and state Progressive candidates run competitive races despite the shortcomings in funding and infrastructure of most rural candidates. Our outreach focuses primarily on the 18-30 year old voting block to build energy for the next generation of Tennessee.
