CaPA Connector+ is designed for a wide range of donors including pooled resource grant giving and foundation staff all the way down to individual donors and donor advisors that want to evaluate community-focused c3, c4, and PAC entities poised to make electoral impacts this cycle.
The Connector+ allows trusted users to filter down to specific geographies, demographic targets, org type, etc. and then review details about the organization’s proposal, budgets, $/action metrics, last reported gaps, and the CaPA Program Priority score given to the org by CaPA’s Grant Review Team’s.
To aid with funding these organizations contact information is included on each org card, and CaPA offers resource pooling services completely free of fiscal fees and overhead charges. With a single contribution to CaPA you can specify dozens of groups you would like CaPA to support on your behalf, or you can give unrestricted funds which will be guided to the most important financial gaps in the most important geographies identified by CaPA.
* The items within a single filter category are “or” functions. Looking for groups in [PA or WI] Each separate filter is connected by an “and” function. Looking for groups in [PA “or” WI] “and” delivering [Warm Texts “or” Relational Texts].
* You can export data from any filtered results you have created by 1) Clicking Export List, 2) Copying all org names to your clipboard 3) Opening this Connector+ Export Google Sheet 3) Make a copy of the google sheet so you are an Editor 4) Paste all org names into the org name column (A) of the Connector+ Export google Sheet. 5) In the file menu click “Update CaPA Data” -> “Sync Now”. 5) You will need to authorize the script clicking “Ok”, logging into your email, clicking “advanced” and “Go to Data Sync- Pull (unsafe)” then “Allow” 6) Re click “Update CaPA Data” - “Sync Now” and wait a couple minutes and the dato for the groups pasted in column A will be brought into the spreadsheet.
* The web filter tool is more powerful than excel’s filter tools. For this reason you may find it helpful to run one complex filter and export all of those organizational names to the Connector+ Export google Sheet, then label them within an unused note column or with a color, and then run another complex filter followed by pasting those org names into the google sheet with associated labeling. When you click “Update CaPA Data” it will import data for all the orgs listed in the Org Name column but not overwrite the user notes at the far right in the columns with white headers in row 4.
*Having the data in a google sheet, while more difficult to read, may be advantageous for developing customized scoring algorithms that take into consideration geographic or other preferences, and/or for assigning dollar amounts or other notes to award dockets you may be working on.
* While this database of more than 500 entities represents over $600M in assessed community organizing financial gaps, it is not a complete list of the thousands of organizations doing impactful work. Unlisted orgs are invited to apply to be listed on CaPA Connector by providing basic information here, or completing the 2024 Final Report Form which is encouraged for organizations seeking funding in 2025.
* Most of the CaPA Connector data is self-reported by the organizations and CaPA has not completed a 3rd party assessment of accuracy
* CaPA only accepted submissions for programs being fielded in races CaPA identified as competitive 2024 geographies
* Organizations have been notified about this publication, and orgs can correct their presentation cards or opt out of being displayed by filling out this form."
* CaPA evaluates where programs are fielded within a State by using congressional district boundaries. An org delivering engagement actions within the boundaries of a congressional district does not mean that group is engaging that congressional district race.
