What is the CaPA Connector?

The CaPA Connector is an interactive platform that profiles hundreds of community-rooted organizations that are engaging voters and advocating for climate, social, racial and/or economic justice. For donors who seek to deploy funds strategically in targeted geographies, with high-impact yet low-profile community organizations, the CaPA Connector database offers a powerful tool of discovery. This database is constantly updated and can be filtered by geography, constituencies, engagement actions, and other criteria.

How can I contribute?

CaPA offers resource pooling services completely free of fiscal fees and overhead charges. With a single contribution to CaPA you can specify groups you would like to support on your behalf, or you can give unrestricted funds which will be guided to the most important financial gaps identified by CaPA’s staff. You can also reach out and give directly to the organizations directly via their website or listed contact.

Disclaimers
  • While this database contains more than 500 entities, it is not a complete list of the thousands of organizations doing impactful work. Organizations are invited to fill out this Card Creation Form to be added to the CaPA Connector.
  • Most of the CaPA Connector data is self-reported by the organizations and CaPA has not completed a 3rd party assessment of accuracy.
  • CaPA evaluates where programs are fielded within a state by using congressional district boundaries. An organization delivering engagement actions within the boundaries of a congressional district does not necessarily mean that group is engaging in a congressional district race.

Resources Legacy Fund (c3)

Organization Description
RLF advances bold, collaborative solutions to secure a just and resilient world for people and nature. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that partners with philanthropy, advocates, government, academia, and business to catalyze action for conservation, environmental equity and justice, and climate solutions. Across the American West and internationally, our work succeeds at scale by building effective public-private partnerships, advancing smart policies, securing public funding, convening and supporting effective coalitions and campaigns, and growing capacity among on-the-ground partners. We manage strategic initiatives and fiscally sponsor projects that accelerate change on the urgent climate, biodiversity, and environmental justice crises we face.
2025 Programs
California is at a crossroads in the climate fight. As a clean energy pioneer, the state made history in 2012 by launching its cap-and-invest program. With the program set to expire in 2030, the oil industry is doing everything it can to weaken and delay the reauthorization process. Meanwhile, frontline communities continue to bear the brunt of pollution and climate-driven disasters. As the legislature works to extend the program through 2045, environmental justice advocates are mobilizing to ensure that equity, not industry influence, shapes California’s clean energy future. Funds raised will support additional resources for the group's communications campaign.
