1K Women Strong Inc. (c4)
Organization Description
1K Women Strong Inc. is a Black Women–led organizing hub dedicated to building year-round civic power and community leadership. We mobilize Black Women and our allies to advance campaigns and initiatives that align across six core policy pillars: Health & Healing, Economic Justice, Education, Equity, Environmental Justice, and Immigration. We do this work across our eight core states—Texas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan—through state-based fellows, community events, and multi-state outreach. Each year, we ramp up our door-knocking and mobilization efforts around Juneteenth, transforming civic participation into lasting power and progress in the communities we serve.
2026 Programs
In 2026, 1K Women Strong Inc. will expand statewide organizing across Texas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, focusing on critical gubernatorial and senate races that shape our policy landscape. Our year-round strategy will include training new fellows, launching digital mobilization campaigns, and coordinating large-scale door-knocking and community-building operations. Through leadership development, coalition partnerships, and issue-based advocacy, we will strengthen civic participation and elevate Black Women’s leadership across all eight core states.
2025 Programs
In 2025, 1K Women Strong Inc. will expand year-round organizing across our eight core states, with a focus on key statewide and municipal races. Our fellows, digital organizers, and field teams will engage Black Women and their communities through leadership development, community events, and coordinated door-knocking efforts. We will focus heavily on Georgia’s Public Service Commissioner race, the Virginia gubernatorial election, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court race, and mayoral contests in New Jersey and New York City. Through sustained outreach, digital engagement, and coalition partnerships, we will strengthen civic participation and ensure Black Women’s voices shape the policies impacting their lives.
2024 Programs
1K Women Strong recruits, trains, and supports grassroots community efforts year-round. Through Peer2Peer contact, rapid response messaging, field organizing, issue advocacy, digital outreach, electoral mobilization, and relational organizing, we have engaged one million Black women since 2020 on a range of issues that impact them.
Mission
Our mission is to empower Black women across the country and mobilize them for action. We are working to create a future – and an America – that is informed by the experiences and expertise of Black women. Through rapid response messaging, issue advocacy, and electoral mobilization, we are working across the U.S. to build community and political power for the long haul.
