How can I contribute?
CaPA offers resource pooling services completely free of fiscal fees and overhead charges. With a single contribution to CaPA you can specify dozens of groups you would like to support on your behalf, or you can give unrestricted funds which will be guided to the most important financial gaps identified by CaPA’s staff. You can also reach out and give directly to the organizations directly via their website or listed contact.

Greenlight wins approval for clean energy projects and ordinances at the local level by running campaigns that mobilize local constituents to support clean energy at moments of critical importance. Our 2024 programmatic work will advance 4.4 Gigawatts of clean energy to the grid, avoiding approximately 2 million tons of Greenhouse Gas pollution as a result.
Greenlight’s mission is to leverage grassroots power to win local siting and permitting campaigns that get more clean energy projects built more quickly across the U.S. We will do this by partnering with local groups and activists to run strategic campaigns that win approval for clean energy projects in their communities.

Our educational work this year centers on a weekly streaming show and podcast, Care Talk, now in its third season. We reach ~15-25,000 viewers per episode, and also share short-form video clips to counter health care misinformation. We educate the public on health care policy, the federal budget process and more. We also produce and distribute educational health care social media content for all the social platforms. We plan to offer more large scale free online media trainings for health care advocates as well.
Formed by some of the people who successfully fought off attacks on our health care in 2017, we’re organizing adults with serious medical conditions and health care activists across the country as a force for change. We are uplifting health care messaging to a disability focused audience nationally and in key states and regions through organic and paid content, as well as offering free media trainings to health care activists and storytellers.

Five days before Veterans Day, and just months after their Independence Day 2024 founding, Independent Veterans of America (IVA) celebrated a historic performance by eleven IVA-endorsed candidates in five states. IVA supported independent veteran candidates at all levels — from local school boards to the US Senate. And we sent shockwaves across the political world by winning an unprecedented 36% of our races.
IVA is the first organization in American history to focus specifically on recruiting, supporting and electing independent and unaffiliated veteran candidates and incumbents. Indivisible Marin is a community of nearly 12,000 volunteers committed to taking action to create a more just, caring, and inclusive America. Nearly half of our volunteers are from outside California. Currently, our focus is to help our members take action in the fight to protect our democracy and the American people from the harms of the current Administration. Protesting, advocacy with elected officials, and other programs covered on our website are important ways to take action. We will also campaign for Democrats in various elections this year and ready ourselves for the crucial work of winning in 2026.
IndiMarin runs weekly phonebanks and postcarding events supporting Democratic candidates in battleground toss up races. We also have an online postcarding programs and participate in canvasses in the Central Valley. We work with our state party and Activate America with platforms that target low propensity/low information Democrat leaning voters.

The Local Progress Impact Lab (the Impact Lab) brings together local leaders, partners, and experts to build the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to advance racial, economic, and gender justice at the local and state level. Our membership is made up of more than 1500 local elected officials who together form the Local Progress network. The Impact Lab provides leadership development and governance training programming and policy, communications, and organizing support to our members and supports them in utilizing a model of collaborative governance that brings historically marginalized and oppressed communities to the center of policymaking.
Our work is member-driven, and as such, our issue focus areas can shift to respond to dynamic environments that create windows of opportunity for elected officials to drive an equitable agenda forward. In 2025, we will focus on climate change and climate justice, housing, economic justice, public safety, public education, and immigrant rights. Programming includes policy primers, issue deep-dives, webinars to launch and distribute resources the Impact Lab creates in collaboration with our partners, such as reports, policy memos, messaging toolkits, and case studies. NDWA is dedicated to advancing domestic and care workers' rights nationwide. In 2025, we’ll prioritize Medicaid funding, defend gained worker wages, and counter anti-immigration policies. At state and local levels, we’ll advance the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights, data collection for HCBS policy advocacy, and initiatives to deliver the most impactful resources in this shifting political landscape. Additionally, NDWA will bolster worker protections, expand digital organizing, and enhance our rapid response networks.
Our civic engagement program is focused on educating voters about care and turning out women of color voters in Sunbelt states, where care and domestic workers have traditionally been left behind, and which is often home to areas with the worst care crisis in the nation.
The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) works for respect, recognition, and rights for the more than 2.2 million nannies, house cleaners, and home care workers who do the essential work of caring for our loved ones and our homes. Driven by domestic workers’ priorities, NDWA is working to catalyze a paradigm shift in the way domestic work is understood, valued, and compensated to ensure that these much-needed jobs are good jobs with dignity, economic security, and labor protections. Our narrative change and storytelling program creates, measures, and disseminates compelling content and messages about the power and promise of state policy. Our research program investigates, measures and reports on crucial trends at the state legislative level, including the composition and reflectiveness of state legislatures, voter participation in state elections, and state legislative electoral outcomes over time. Our State Bridges program will raise funds for 501(C)(3) organizations running year round nonpartisan organizing programs in their local communities.

Founded in 2001, the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) is a public interest nonprofit dedicated to achieving a healthy, equitable, and low carbon future by advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, electrification, and clean transportation solutions in the southwestern United States. In collaboration with state and local governments, utilities, environmental and community groups, businesses, agencies, and others, SWEEP advocates for programs, policies, and funding to mitigate climate change and its impacts, support underserved and disadvantaged communities, and save people money on energy and transportation costs. SWEEP has helped pass more than 150 state laws across the Southwest.
SWEEP will work to advance a clean and equitable energy future in 2025 through three programs: 1) Utilities: Working to get utilities to invest in renewable energy resources, energy efficiency programs, and demand response efforts to reduce energy waste, utility bills, and emissions; 2) Buildings: Ensuring that homes and commercial buildings are constructed or retrofitted to be energy efficient and heated and cooled with clean electricity; and 3) Transportation: electrifying the transportation sector; promoting multimodal alternatives like transit, biking, and walking; and advocating for smart land use and affordable infill housing to reduce travel costs, demand, and emissions.

State Futures envisions a nation where state leaders work in coordinated networks to advance bold policies in the public interest, protect democratic institutions, and improve the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans. The organization is a strategic and operational hub for cohorts of values-aligned state legislators, Secretaries of State, and State Financial Officers to oppose harmful federal policies, coordinate multi-state actions, and implement transformative state policies.
State Futures organizes cohorts of values-aligned state policymakers and equips them to collaborate across states to advance policies that strengthen communities and transform markets. We create dedicated spaces for cross-state peer learning, collaboration, and coordinated multi-state action. Currently, the State Futures network includes over 130 engaged state legislators and more than a dozen key Secretaries of State and State Financial Officers, with cohorts chaired by sitting policymakers. Programming addresses both immediate needs, particularly rapid response opposition to the Trump administration, and longer-term priorities like strengthening state-level regulations in health care, environment, consumer protection, and labor.

TurnUp's youth-led voter registration and turnout program targets competitive states and congressional districts. We conduct paid student-led on-campus voter registration and turnout drives at high schools and low-turnout community college campuses; relational voter registration and turnout programs targeting unregistered and low-propensity young voters; an educational internship program empowering youth to conduct text-banking, phone-banking, and canvassing; and innovative digital activities reminding young people to register and vote. Since 2019, we have registered over 400,000 young voters, texted 35 million young voters, talked to 900,000 young voters via phone, and graduated 13,000 youth from our internship program.
In 2025, TurnUp is focused on registering 170,000 young people to vote in key states and congressional districts for the 2026 elections and beyond. We are also registering and turning out young voters in the VA and PA elections. TurnUp is organizing the following programs to accomplish these goals paid student-led on-campus voter registration and turnout drives at high schools and low-turnout community college campuses; relational voter registration and turnout programs targeting unregistered and low-propensity young voters; an educational internship program empowering youth to conduct text-banking, phone-banking, and canvassing; and digital activities reminding young people to register and vote.
TurnUp's Youth-led GOTV program targets low-turnout community college campuses and low-propensity young voters. UNITE HERE Action Fund will promote and increase the electoral participation of low propensity voters – primarily working class and people of color – in Virginia and New Jersey by having UNITE HERE union members canvass them to identify issues and key challenges facing them, draw out what messages are most motivating, and educate them on how to vote.
The hospitality workers union, UNITE HERE Action Fund, is launching an ambitious field program in 2024 in Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. UNITE HERE operates the nation’s largest labor-led canvassing program, with canvassers who are union members—workers talking to working-class voters about their fight to protect their livelihoods and their country.
The purpose of the UNITE HERE Action Fund is to assist hospitality workers, other working people and their families to achieve economic, social, and racial justice through education and advocacy, leadership development, and full participation in civic life. UNITE HERE Action Fund and Workers Vote are closely aligned with UNITE HERE, a hospitality workers union.
Vet Voice Foundation’s direct mail program, targeting approximately 7.1 million households in states with high veteran and military family populations, will increase voter turnout among veteran and military family voters.
